So, you're looking for a high-octane, no compromise, custom computer that's built for all the latest and greatest PC games. Well, you've come to the right place. For eight years, MAINGEAR has been engineering the finest, award-winning custom gaming computers on the market. With a focus on customer service, we ensure that each and every gaming PC we sell has been thoroughly tested, burned in, and guaranteed to provide years of enjoyment.
When choosing a custom built gaming PC, it's best to ask yourself three questions (questions we'll ask you ourselves if you call in for a one-on-one consultation):
1. "What games do I want to play?"
2. "What size monitor do I have or want to buy?"
3. "What's my budget?"
These questions will define the custom built gaming PC configuration that is right for you - and no matter how you answer these questions, we have a solution.

There are a lot of different games out there that require varying levels of hardware. The good news is that we can custom build a gaming PC tailored to these needs. If you're just playing Farmville on Facebook, you don't need a three-way video card solution! However, if you want to play the latest hardcore first person shooter with all 3D effects maxed, that's another story. It will vary from game to game, but we can help you build the best gaming computer based on the games you like to play. Some game franchises like Call of Duty play well on a wide range of hardware, while others like Crysis don't. Furthermore, some of the most popular games like Left 4 Dead 2 are based on older 3D game engines that play extremely well on mainstream hardware, but need more power the higher the resolution you play. Which brings us to the next question:

Once you know the type of gamer you are, the next most important question is what size monitor you want to game on. For instance, Resident Evil 5 plays great at 1280x1024 resolution on a 512MB ATI Radeon HD 5750 - but if you're going to be playing on a 30" monitor at 2560x1600, you'll be very disappointed. In fact, 30" gaming at XHD resolutions are the realm of multiple video cards. This is where you want to seriously consider dual and triple-graphics solutions; otherwise you'll be disappointed with the frame rates. We suggest you give us a call if you're looking at gaming at higher resolutions, as we can make sure you're spending your money wisely. Remember, we're not on commission, and we want to make sure you're satisfied with your new custom gaming PC.

This is where we excel - making sure you get the best bang for your buck. If you've only got a budget of $2000, we have to make sure you're getting the right balance of CPU, Memory, and GPU performance - too much of any one of those three will make you compromise on the others thereby hindering performance! Sometimes it's good to take a step back from that latest and greatest CPU so you can spend more money on the GPU - and you definitely don't want your PC to choke on too little RAM. If you're going to be playing at higher resolutions, you'll be GPU bound. That means your GPU will be stressed more than your CPU - and a faster CPU will be idle waiting for your GPU to finish what it's doing. In this case it's better to drop down that CPU and spend more money on a GPU. Furthermore, if you're not getting enough RAM (4GB is a minimum these days - and goes up depending on your computing style) your gaming PC will have to use the page file on your hard drive, significantly decreasing performance as textures and game data have to be cached on the slower hard drive instead of read from the much faster system memory.

At MAINGEAR we build each and every system as if we were building them for friends and family. We take tremendous pride in the the care we give our custom computers and gaming PCs. Each system is hand-built from the ground up by a qualified technician who carefully routes every wire, giving the system a clean, professional look. Then each custom computer is burned-in with our proven and vigorous hardware tests, ensuring your PC is going to be up to whatever task you put to it. Because no matter what you need your PC to do, it will never be as stressed as it is during our burn-in session at the factory.
Your gaming PC will be integrated with the finest brands on the market. The components we use have been hand-picked by us for their features, performance, and reliability. We do not sacrifice quality for price. We have tested our components for maximum performance and compatibility. Some companies throw a bunch of parts in an on-line configurator and trust you've done your homework as to which parts work best. Then they do research and development on your dime after you bought your PC. We do all the work up front so you don't have to. And we've got the track record to prove it.

Each of our customers are important to us, and we treat them like family. This means that from the first time you speak with us, we're committed to delivering the best experience you can get from a PC. We're not on commission so if we help you configure your gaming computer we'll be working with you to build the best experience you can get for your money. And we'll spend as much time doing it as you need to feel comfortable. Even better, you have access to anyone at MAINGEAR. From the technicians who build your PC, to the engineers who test and validate our configurations, and even our executive management team, you can speak to someone at MAINGEAR who will be able to professionally address your concerns.
We think of ourselves as a customer service company that just happens to build the fastest, most wicked gaming computers and custom PCs on the market.

What's bloatware? Well, CTO Chris Morley has a lot to say about that subject. It's the practice of loading up your computer with 3rd party software, often crippled trial versions, that bog your PC down and keep it from running at its full potential. If you've owned a PC from a multi-national Tier 1 you know what we're talking about. It's the reason your system takes so long to boot up. It's why you have weird software incompatibility problems. But what you might not know is that those companies are making money on pre-installing that software! We think that billboards are a better place for advertising, not your PC's desktop.
